Physicochemical Property
The chemical name of sodium citrate is trisodium 2-hydroxypropane-1,2,3-tricarboxylate, the molecular formula is Na3C6H5O7, and the density is 1.7 g/cm3. It is a colorless crystal or white crystalline powder. It has a pleasant sour and salty taste and no odor. It is very soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, loses crystal water at 150 °C, and melts at 300 °C.

Product application
Sodium citrate can be used as an acidity regulator, chelating agent, stabilizer, surfactant or emulsifier, buffering compound, flavor enhancer, preservative, color stabilizer, complexing agent, dispersant, molten salt, synergist, antioxidant in the food industry.It is also used in the pharmaceutical industry to produce drugs for treating urinary and reproductive system infections, heartburn, and dehydration.It is used in medicine to treat cystitis and renal acidification dysfunction, and is also a blood anticoagulant.It is used in the cosmetics industry to regulate the acidity and foam level in shampoo, lotion, facial tonic and soap.In the detergent industry, sodium tripolyphosphate can be used as an environmentally friendly additive to produce biodegradable detergents.
